Our Taurus Season Tarot Council
When Tarot cards come up together, they interact to tell a very specific story.
The story of Taurus shares about an opportunity for us to get really grounded in the steady things we need and crave for our lives. It’s about supportive habits and day to day routines that feed into our wellbeing and sense of stability (especially in these unstable times). The magic of small, aligned, consistent steps is that they can add up to big magic.
I wanted to share little more about these cards and how the combination of them interacting can support us in a pretty strange, liminal landscape. This is kind of a big deal in the context of the Hermit year that is 2025.
The Hierophant (5) is lead by Taurus and has a bigger connection to The Empress through Venus (the ruling planet of Taurus), a numerological link to Temperance (14) and an elemental and energetic link to the Page of Pentacles (Earth/Earth).
What we are being invited into with the Hierophant is to consider that we are our own best experts. It’s to get grounded in our well earned knowledge, wisdom and lived experiences. They mean something. They are important. Of course it’s important to stay open headed and minded to new ways of viewing things but it’s not positioning others as experts for how we want to be in our lives.
Us knowing best means that we have learned what works for us and what dissent (or at least that we are figuring that out). It means that the experience of our lifetimes has allowed us to build up some really valuable and crucial intel about who we are and what we are here for in this lifetime. We can rely on that.
Opinions and hot takes are out of control in this day and age. It’s so freeing to know that we don’t need to share our every thought about what folks are doing in their day to day lives. It’s even more freeing to realise that we don’t have to invite that in either. We have bigger fish to fry. Our understanding of ourselves and how we want to contribute to a more fair world is needed so we can show up best; or ourselves, for our people, for our kids, for each other.
Having our own backs in what’s best for us and what our needs, wants and passions are is a beautiful thing. Of course we are going to be learning babies forever. Yay for those of us with curious minds and souls. And also, we take what works for us, tweak to make things better and leave the rest. We no longer hold folks up on pedestals and give guru status to those with the loudest voices. Power with, not power over right? And power with ourselves in this season is all about our relationship to our bodies, our homes and surroundings and our finances. This beauty is massive self-advocacy vibes.
The Empress is ruled by Venus, which is the ruling planet of Taurus, and is a very earthy grounded being. The energy from The Empress is all about reciprocity. Increasing our ability to receive is a very important yet really confronting thing for so many of us, especially the highly sensitives, the empaths and the caregivers. In this season, it would be really smart to look at how you open yourself up to receive the blessings in your life. Start small with your breath, the water you drink and food you eat, the small every moments of magic and joy (Spring is here for that). Can you allow yourself to receive more peace, ease, awe, love, inspiration, nourishment, understanding? Can you be more open to receiving the expertise about yourself that you have built up over your years? The ones that will contribute to the changes we want to see in the world are the ones who know what they deserve in this life. They want cleaner air and water, a more fair society, equality, respect. They want that for everyone but they also want it for themselves. Getting rooted in what we deserve helps us be better citizens in all ways.
Temperance (14) is the numerological support for The Hierophant (5) and is a little fire lit under our collective asses to make sure we have fully burned away the dead things that needed burning. The start of this year as been a doozy both astrologically and energetically. It was a massive underworld journey whether we wanted it or not. There is no doubt that we have all experienced some confronting themes around what needs healing during that stretch. This is a wonderful time to do a little completion work for yourself so you can fully engage with yourself in a more stabilising way.
Page of Pentacles is our earthy cheerleader of all things holy and real and everyday. This double earth energy wants us to treat ourselves more sacredly and our daily actions as though they really fucking matter (cause they do!). They want us to treat our choices and actions as sacred as the items we would place on a most cherished of altars (thank you Jessica Dore for this connection). Every day is an opportunity to connect to what we do in a day in a more meaningful way. We get to ritualise our life eventually. This means looking at the why of what we do. It means knowing that we have a lot more choice in how we approach our lives and our days than we would maybe think. It means considering that we are worthy of more ease, awe, wonder, joy, and sacredness. That’s kind of a big deal but one that we can be supported in with this very enthusiastic energy.
